Here is one from last Thursday; he needed some liftbags and we decided that as he was planning on going deeper that extra bouyancy was better so he ordered the extra large DSMB - well from the photo below you can see why it took the better part of 10 minutes to stop laughing when he rolled it out...

He promised me a Dive-Oz stubby holder...but I only ever wanted this one...my beautiful boy. Still very hard to believe.

I knew Denz from the DIVEOZ Forum and we met in 2004 in OZ also.
We chatted a lot about DIr and diving in general and he was a nice guy.

This sucks

Wow - I just saw this terrible news. Of course I didn't know Denz any better than a few one liners or green he sent my way, but he always seemed like a really solid guy and I've heard from others how big of a heart he had. I'm sorry that I'll never get to meet the man ... my condolences to all.

I never had the pleasure of meeting him personally, but by god we had fantastic posts going back and forwards. Loved his humor,

Denz - hope you are at a great place now, with endless bottom time and bikini chicks back on the boat.

Ah crap! Denz was a fun fella who knew what mattered in life.... and I only spoke to him a few times on here. To you guys downunder, you've been lucky to have him for real, remember the good times.

Denz's family are all in Holland, they had no idea about his life here in Australia. The idea has been suggested that we are going to do a big scrapbook about Denz, and his life here in Australia. If anyone has anything they want added to the book, please feel free to post it here, drop me a PM, email it to me, sadave@diveoz.com.au or if your in Perth, bring it along to the Oxford tonight. Photos, stories, anecdotes, memories, anything and everything is welcome. There are some english speakers in his family who can translate for the rest.
Thanks to everyone for the kind words, texts, emails and phone calls. We really do appreciate it, even if we seem like grumpy ****s at the time.

Here's some that I just grabbed off my facebook page.

Enjoy them please.

First is Denz and myself in The Woolshed, Cairns. If you've been there, I don't need to tell the story!

Second is Emma, Denz, and a random in Shenanigans Bar, Cairns. Did we mention that Denz is 6'10, and Ems is 5'0?

Third, I love this shot, Denz at "work", the shark attraction dive at North Horn, Osprey Reef, 300nm from Cairns. This was when we were both working aboard the Nimrod Explorer.

Fourth, taken with my camera phone, at a Backpackers in Cairns, Denz and Emz, this is after they had left Nimrod, had moved out of their house, and were preparing to go on their round Australia tour in the Hilux.

Last one is Pox, Ems, Denz, and myself in "The Chapel" bar in Cairns, home of the infamous Long Island Ice Teas...

These photo's were all taken between 2003 and 2005.
