Sven was a member of the Rebreather World staff, he gave his own time, freely, to this site and we are deeply shocked and saddened by his death.

Sven was a Moderator on these boards and known by many people,
my condolences to his family and friends and hope for a speedy recovery of him,
please every one dive safe, we have lost far to many in the last few years.

I have no words to discribe the deep shock and sense of loss, even though I did not personally know Sven.

I am shocked!

Eventhough I have not met Sven, we have exchanged a lot of PM's over the past years as I was looking to moving to Perth, and also when one of the Sydney Project members (Samir) moved to UAE this year.

He was always very helpful whenever I had any questions, and always had a good sense of humor about his ways. Sven was one of the nicest members on Rebreather World, IMHO.

Why are we keep losing the good people so soon ? This absolutely sucks!!!

I am very sad to hear of this.

Sven was actively engaged in some of the rebreather safety work. His PMs showed a deep concern for safety. He came across as a very principled, and passionate gentleman.

My heart goes out to Sven's family and close friends at this terrible time.

The actions of his buddies in doing their best, at considerable risk to their own lives, deserve our great respect.

I would like to add my condolences to the many I am sure will be posted.

I know he will be missed by all of his buddies on the Sydney project, and our condolences go out to both his wife and his family at this time of great loss.

He was a careful diver and one who enjoyed doing the deep diving he was passionate for. I'm sure both of the divers present did everything they could to bring him back and their valiant efforts should be applauded.

I will be in Orlando for Dema and will try and touch base with some of you from the staff there.
