![]() | Re: In memorium: Sven Paepke. I have pleasant memories of many wide ranging conversations with Sven - while we shared a cabin aboard Ocean Trek, or on long drives up and down the coast, or on various boat dives and the relaxed brunches afterwards, plus the Willoughby pub. It's hard to imagine that we can no longer talk of diving, New Zealand, Germany, music, humans and the world in general. I guess all it's possible to do here is express heartfelt sympathy to those close to Sven, and support for his dive buddies who have had an awful experience. Sven, you remain as a thoughtful, considerate and amusing friend. |

| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Re: In memorium: Sven Paepke. My condolences to Sven's wife and family. This is just absolutely gut-wrenching news. Not only was Sven a truly passionate diver, he always most encouraging and supportive of divers new to deep diving. I have been fortunate to dive with Sven on several occasions and his manner and professionalism was always impressive. The diving fraternity has lost a truly remarkable soul. He will be very sorely missed by all. |

Like many on here I haven't met Sven, searching back through my mind i cant remember getting into discussion with him much on hear either. However I have great respect the time and effort he put in to this site for the benefit of us all. Obviously a giver and generous of heart. I hope he is found quickly and that the pain of his loss passes soon so his family and friends can think of him and smile at the memory of good times. ATB Mark Chase
