G'day Garry, 'doin' well! I just saw your reply; I have no idea how these bloody notifications work sometimes.
So you have a LarV? I used to have a Lar but on the plate it had VII. Never dived it as I was only just starting off in Rebreather and figured it'd probably kill me. Got it off my brothers mate (yeah sounds bad) who new a Draeger rep or something. Thought it may have been hot except the brother's a S/SGT with TasPol and his mate works for the SES. Ended up selling it to my instructor who was more than happy to have it. Given I sold it to him for what I paid for it I reckon he'd bloody happy!!
We're are all meeting up at a local site Sat arvo for a shallow (10m max) just to test some kit. So if by chance your're in Hobart on Sat we'll all be down at Tinderbox at about 1330. We're meeting at Southern Tas Divers at 1200. You'd be more than welcome for a look.
Again sorry for missing your previous reply, you'd think I'd know my way around this site by now.

  4. Hey Warren
Basically, my interest evolved for rebreathers when I used to service the early navy FGT's. I got my hands on one of those and had a lot of fun using it. Also serviced the Lar V's. still have my own Lar V which as you know is limited to shallow diving. It's an awesome set tho. Best set I ever played with was the Mk 16 which is the current Australian Navy's rebreather. Interesting set. Still interested in Rebreathers which is why I joined the site. Not really interested in organised dives tho, as my Lar V is very limited. I do love it when I dive it, but I don't dive much at all anymore. Glad your enjoying the sport tho.

No worries mate. Are you diving an RB or just got the interest. RBs in Tassie are few in number (currently I only know of 6 others excluding mine and Tas Uni) that's why I contacted you. The nearest one to you that I know is in Launceston (megladon). We've started a bit of a RB group in Tassie and are currently setting RB only dive days through Eagle Hawk Neck.
We also do a fair bit down at Bicheno and during summer the monument an low head are on offer.

Current (known by our group) RB's in Tas are a Meg, Revo x 2, Discovery x2, my Inspo (mccr convert) and an hammerhead inspo.

If you're interested I can let you know when we organise dives.
