  1. I have a question for the instructors out there. I have been diving a rebreather(s) for about 4 years now. Dolphin, closed dolphin, homebuilt and now a Kiss Sport. I'm self taught and that is the problem. I have a boat and friends that have boats, so diving isn't a problem. Charter boats and traveling is a problem without a cert. The going prices are out of my range to spend upwards of 2 grand factoring in travel, gases, ect. And don't get me wrong, with what I'm reading, for the time and effort you guys (girls) put into a course, I think you are underpaid. So is it unreasonable or setting a bad precedent to ask an instructor to give me a half day to prove my skills and whatever they need to sign off with no reservations about ability. With a price set by the instructor they deem fair AND with the understanding if I don't demonstrate that ability in short order, I flunk and am invited to join a full class at full price of course.
