Unhappy problem with my new meg

Hi all,

just recieved my new meg at home today.
I already have a problem with the primary handset.
When I push on the "menu" button, nothing happend, if I push on the "confirm" button, the backlite of the screen goes on.

Does S.O. already has the problem?...

I am a little bit disapointed to probably have to send it back to ISC before it got wet!!!

Any idea?

Re: problem with my new meg

Hi
This is not a problem I have heard of, do have any menu functions at all?
Silly question does the problem persist when you turn the batteries off then on again?

Re: problem with my new meg

Sure I tried to switch the batteries off and on.
The secondary menu is ok.
The primary screen is not frozen....There is no noise inside the handset when I shake it..

Re: problem with my new meg

The first i would check is the magnet on the menu button.

Exactly. You could try swapping the menu and confirm buttons (since you know the second one works). Also, if you bought the deluxe spares kit, there is an extra button in there.

Re: problem with my new meg

when you hit 'confirm' the screen lights up but does it display anything, it should show you the PPo2 readings

Re: problem with my new meg

Exact I have the "deluxe" o-ring kit.

I am quite sure it is a magnet problem or so.....
I am waiting Leon's reply to know his advice.

Re: problem with my new meg

Yes Andy, I see the vlaue of each o2 cell, and the mean value, I also see the little signs on the right moving to show the screen is not frozen.
Everything seems to work except if I try to push on the menu button to access to the different options.

Re: problem with my new meg

You can test the magnet, first try rotating the button about 90 degrees, second you can remove the buttons by unscrewing the retainer, then trying the Confirm button in the menu hole.
As you can see from the picture below thier is only a spring below the button
