| Meg purchase: What set up should I get? I am thinking about getting a Meg & I would like to know what you think the best set up would be and why. There seem to be different head options and lost of options and accessories. I would also be interested in any extra safety accessories (i.e. full face mask or not etc) that you would get. Thanks for any help and suggestions, ChemicalDiver |

I've been dive the Megalodon with APECS electronics for few year and got my COPIS Meg few ,months ago and personally, I love the neoprene CL's. They are more susceptible to puncture than the ballistic nylon but they aren't so bulk. Also I'd order the VR3 4th cell connector and the Tiger Gear system to mount the tanks. Cheers,

I am under the opinion that if you are looking MEG, then the COPIS would be the best option and then to eCCR later on. The COPIS will get you plenty deep as you learn for quite a while or even at all maybe, depending on your needs. Driving the unit manual vs. just for kicks with the electronics as a backup could lead to lazyness or over confidence that may happen. As you are learning on the COPIS (which is much cheaper) the next best electronics will be coming out and you will want them anyway, wheather it be APECS 3 or not.

| Re: Meg purchase: What set up should I get? Thanks for the advice and the info on the COPIS. I was rather looking at the eCCR though...although the "waiting for APECS3" argument is interesting, but who knows when it will really come out? I kind of settled on the full Meg package, but was stuck on some of the extras and head/ electronic options. I have a VR3 that I intend to use for it. I do like my electronics so the "e" is currently also one of the attractions of a rebreather for me. By the way, do you know whether a 30 lbs wing is enough for a meg? It seems enough for any diving I do currently. Cheers, Chemical |

I'm with you on the eCCR issue mr chemical . i've got the apecs2 and it great i use a VR3 with it and back up tables and i love it . as for apecs3 as much as i want it i'm also aware that with every new deco software that come out with eCCR there are problems ( boris/vision and so on) and these will have to be ironed out. so go with your heart cause you won't be disapointed.I have a VR3 that I intend to use for it.
