| Re: 2007 Megalodon Price Tag However, if a price list has a number on it, and then you are told that it will be 4% more for credit card use, that should be reported to your bank. That can (and will) get the merchant's authorization to take plastic revoked. You need to get your blood pressure checked. There are so many better "wrongs" in this world to get worked-up about. |

| Re: 2007 Megalodon Price Tag The people at ISC are excellent. Steve Stolen is extremely knowledgeable as well as very pleasant to talk with. I do have to say dealing with ISC has been one of the most positive experiences I have ever had involving a purchase made long distance. Any option or configuration you can think of is available, and Leon and his fine group are one of the most reasonable and understanding businesses I have ever dealt with. I have however, had not much luck in securing Meg can Serial #500. It seems that Steve has thought ahead a great deal regarding both their designs and other matters. The "#1 Custom Rebreather Award" is definately going to ISC.

| Earning the green stuff.. Current Rebreather/s: | Re: 2007 Megalodon Price Tag Joe is correct; it is a direct violation of the merchant agreement to charge more for credit card use. Oddly enough its perfectly ok to offer a "cash discount". It's a violation if you have a direct account with the credit card but not if you are taking payment thru someone like paypal (i.e. it a credit card rule, not a state or federal law) which ISC states they are. Paypal charges extra for people using credit cards and I think their charge to the seller is about 4%. And oddly, I haven't heard about paypal being pulled from accepting credit cards use for their "credit card fee"....However, if a price list has a number on it, and then you are told that it will be 4% more for credit card use, that should be reported to your bank. That can (and will) get the merchant's authorization to take plastic revoked. The legitimate way to do this is to list a total price and then offer a discount for cash (yes, I know its technically the same thing - go talk to the merchant processors about it!) BTW, 4% is damn high - like double what any merchant with any sort of business history and assets should be able to achieve with a moderate amount of effort, even for "Card not present" transactions. I had a merchant account for close to 15 years and we were never charged more than a 2% discount rate - and 90%+ of our transactions were "card not present."

Is it at all possible for you to go one whole day without getting your panties in a bunch over something that really has nothing to do with you? Try reading the normal sized print at the bottom of said price list prior to jumping up on your soapbox. Having been in Australia for the last week has taught me a new phrase and it so applies here "Dont be a tosser!"
