Narked@90 stand on the Meg, I am in love

So I borrowed Craigs Narked@90 stand on the weekend cause he was diving the MultiMeg (lucky bastard).

Anyway I am totally in love with it, first time I have dived the stand, and the first time I have got back on the boat without a sore back.

It rests the whole unit on my padded arse and takes all the strain off my my middle and lower back. And to anyone who gets a sore back while diving I would say get one of these puppies

Still working out the best way to mount everything and I will be sticking the top half of the Armadillo back on to pull the bailout up under my arms.

Only thing I would change on the Narked@90 stand is a decent smooth rounded handle that you can actually pick the unit up with cause how it comes is pretty usless for picking up that kinda weight.

Here is a short video with how it sits and my dreadful trim while I get everything comfy.

Also have some cool video of the Multimeg and I will post it in the next couple of days.

Cheers
Chriso

Re: Narked@90 stand on the Meg, I am in love

I slotted a length of aquarium pipe (3/4inch dia) over the handle and bound it up in duct tape (what else ) to make a round handle, it took hefting the SK with 3 full tanks, backplate and wing etc around from impossible to managable.

Haven't yet but am debating adding one to the CK... it doesn't seem to generate the back pain the SK did but is still uber short when kitting up.

Meg stand

Me and my buddy have both bought narked@90 stands-what a top piece of kit! Every MEG diver should at least try it.
The only thing I didn't like was the handle obstructing the O2 input. But thats easily solved by pulling the lid round a few mill's till the clips are right up against the edge of their grooves.

Fantastic, even if I did have to listen to Rich Stevens taking the piss out of me all weekend for 'desectrating' my unit with a 'shopping trolley'!!!!

I couldn't imagine using my Classic KISS without it as well.

Ah Chris

I did this to my KISS a year ago (or whenever they were first made), second best thing I've ever done. It's as good as doing lots of ab crunches, the other thing that may make a sore back go away. Worked for me, but then, I have lots of ab to crunch with .

cheers

Andy

Re: Narked@90 stand on the Meg, I am in love

Just thought I would add my bit, the Narked@90 Meg stand is fantastic, no more trying to stand on a rocking boat or bending knees and resting unit on bench. It does make the Meg even more comfortable than it was in water and is perfect for the placement of inflation bottle or torch battery.
I still believe Rich will get one he did protest too much over the weekend!
