I am looking for a Meg instructor in the Bay Area, to dive Monterey. Any Recommendations? Any Instructors?

Thanks.

I'm not sure about Northern California, but these guys are based in Santa Barbara and "service" the West Coast so may be a place to start(??).

I'm not based in the US so unfortunately don't really know that much about them.

Other than that, obviously there's the main man up in Washington.

Rich Christianson in Reno is a Meg instructor... A great guy too! I'm sure he would come down to teach your class.

If you dive Lake Tahoe, take the time to go to Sparks, NV (literally right next to Reno, NV) and dive the F4 they have in a flooded quarry... my favorite zero-vis dive!

No idea, but it is there... Sparks Marina.
MaxD about 40ffw at 4400 - 4500 Ele...

Kinda neat I thought...

gotta get "permission" fom the "security gaurd", basically just makes sure that you are certified, and have a buddy (no solo diving... ). I think NV requires a flag too...

The Ledge near Crystal Bay in Lake Tahoe (ele ~6200), site name: Stateline Wall?... it is on the NV/ CA stateline is a decenst dive too...

Park on Speedboat Road, walk down to beach (steep decline), surface swim 300 yds east, decend on the wall (deep as you dare... XXXXffw). I use the swim back (what was the surface swim out) an extended safety stop (mostly 20ffw)...

Re: Looking for Meg instructor in No Cal/Monterey

If I remember correctly, the Nevada Air National Guard donated it after they retired all their F4's in favor of C130's. The idea was to make a kind of underwater park. I still go to Reno a lot because my family lives there. I'll have to dive it next time I'm out there... I'd actually forgotten that they put the F4 down there.

For Tahoe dives, I have always liked Rubican Wall. The rock structure is amazing, and you can go as deep as you like.
