| Protective Coating Mountain Diver and I have been looking at some way to protect the bottom of our MEG canisters. We came to the conclusion of using a rubberized paint used for truck box liners. Zero weight, no snags and easy to repair when needed. The can costs only $10 CDN. Attachment 3327

| Re: Protective Coating Think of having a bedliner company like LineX or Rhino spray the whole can. Probably only cost around $15. They'll do it when they spray a truck bed. Guess what benifit you also get? It's now insulated. They can spray it on thick as you want to pay for. But, probably more then the $15 for a 1.5in thick coating. I like the LineX. It's what mine has on it now. Reverse the flow and get a Radial for it. Efficiency here you come. |

| Re: Protective Coating Hi, I have just purchased a Meg Stand from narkedat90 and not only dose it protect the base of the Meg but helps with putting the unit on as it is raised slightly. I know it costs more than the option you have shown, just thought I would expand on what else is out there! Safe Diving, Gary Merry Christmas ![]() |

Wow I guess I'm totally off the mark here, but I spent hundreds of hours on the Megs trying to beat them up and make them look used - sorry Phi - Zero weight, no snags and easy to repair when needed. The can costs only $10 CDN. Attachment 3321 just kidding - people that dive with me know I'm not a cream puff on gear but I don't try to actually abuse life support... If anything you would be protecting whatever you set the unit on from damage...kind of like a tank boot on an aluminum cylinder??? Deep Thought |

But once I had spent a little bit of time cleaning everything up, it was all cosmetics. And the unit looks brand new now... ![]()

| Re: Protective Coating hehe I have a major ding / gouge in mine that no amount of polishing would get out- I truly think that most other things would have been in pieces after that one...

Attachment 3327 very nice indeed. here is a pic of what i did with my can. i had a 10L steel tank that i did not like... so i took off the boot, cut it down and here is the result. i must tell you that this way, the meg got "taller", so the tanks are able to come further down. don't like those tank sticking up like that. What do you think? very cheap, very easy. ![]()
