Another option might be the Pelagian, an ECCR that has an adjustable passive add needle valve O2 addition and OTS CLs. It seems like a very sensible design. I seem to remember that it had BOV as standard equipment, so it would be a serious contender if it's really available... -Andy

Duh! I meant MCCR, posting too late. Sorry...

I am interested in seeing where the orifice is located in the lid.

It isn't located in the lid mate. It is in line between the reg and the QD on the top of the lid. You will shake your head when you see the way the O2 reg is modified

Yes, ISC will be coming out with their HUD shortly. I am going to be one of the first ones requesting one as soon as they are available.
Mel has been Beta testing the COPIS HUD for some time now and it seems to work very well. We haven't heard when it will be released.

Re: COPIS v Kiss Classic

get your orders in now as they are being spooled up as we speak, I have orders in the que for 3 units for the course we are doing in playa del carmen starting january 26th. (got room for another diver, if anyone is interested)

the orifice was originally in the head, but for a possible leak situation (where the o ring popped or some such), I figured that in the hose was a much better place. also less likely to get salt water into it there and get plugged. It has a scintered filter in line just before it also. The white plastic barbed fitting you see in the pic is to attach a hose to the flow meter for predive testing.

Re: COPIS v Kiss Classic

Ron,

What is the size of the orifice ?

Do you have any pic of the orifice installed on the connecting hose as you have mentioned ?

Just curious as I REALLY want one since I also miss diving my KISS units...

Second the motion. I am one of three students in that COPIS class; its shaping up to be a great week; not only will Ron be teaching it, but Matt from Pro-Tec (See ADM Explorer's Hall Of Fame) will also be involved. Since Ron is widely known to be such a pushover as an instructor, we anticipate a week of partying and rabble rousing in PDC instead of studying (er, ... hmmm, don't anyone tell Ron I said that...)

John, you are so busted, its going to be pushups every morning with the meg on your back at 12% O2 until I get tired of watching you sweat. (good thing Im a pushover, or was that a pushup orderer?)

Phi, I dont have my camera handy, just a cam phone, the orifice is .0035.
