| Re: alternative Let's hope not as Titanium and O2 go bang!!!!!! ohh I wouldn't want that to happen Dave. The can on the inspiration is a plastic and it's nice and light compared to the Meg. There must be somthing suitable. Cheers mate, Dave. Am I the only one who wants a light travel unit? |

An other problem youll get when running after a light canister is to protect it and the need of a frame to hold the tanks ( or a yellow box to hold the whole things together Am I the only one who wants a light travel unit? ), you loose from one hand what you get in the over.Sorry thats dont help But obviously there is a real need for a "special travel" Rebreather Cheers Marc |

| Cap Ron scourge of the NW ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Delrin Megalodon Cliff Clavin says... its a little known fact that... Ti is 1.6 times heavier than aluminum, but would not need to be near as thick to do the same job, so in essence most likely end up being lighter. However, a serious drop on a corner would be an expensive mistake. Ti is about an order of magnitude more expensive than aluminum by weight. (current metals pricing, results may vary) to lighten up your meg, get a mini first, then have a serious machine shop turn down the bottom 2/3rd of the housing to about half thickness, then reanodize, forget the fancy tank mounting systems, go with a plastic backplate and aluminum 2 liter cylinders with the new Zeagle or H2Odyssey combined valve/regulator combo and you should come in around 35-40lbs/18 kilos. I have had the Superlight Mini Meg on the drawing board for some time. BTW, there is no delrin in the MEG, delrin (a monopolymer acetal) tends to have problems with perosity when formed, ISC uses only Copolymer Acetal in its machined parts. ISC once has a supplier send delrin mistakenly (cant tell them apart by looking) instead of our usual copolymer and a bunch of ADV's were made that leaked right through the face of the unit during testing, no, not around threads, or some such, right THROUGH the face of the part. this is not good...ask Darlene (scubavixen) about her frustrations with delrin for her handset design. It wasnt the orings : )

| Re: Delrin Megalodon Cliff Clavin says... its a little known fact that... And I had the ULTRA light MicroMeg w/ the ULTRA light carbon backplate, in the water for a 4 ˝ hour pool test today. The one w/ the light weight aluminum can and the short radial scrubber that holds 15% more ‘sorb than the Mini but is 1 ˝ inches shorter overall….. Ask me about it @ DEMA. I have had the Superlight Mini Meg on the drawing board for some time. Best, Ken |
