| Re: Homebuilt Meg Radial Scrubber We have a radial scrubber for Meg. First production run is in progress. It fits the movie Meg without insert, just absorbent pad at the bottom ( I have been diving it for past 8 months) and standard Meg with insert. I am sure we can fit it to the mini Meg as well. Just need the dimensions. What's the price, and when are they available? |

[=Skipbreather;70942]Awww, Patti- How could you be a prototype? You’re strictly a ‘one-off’ since when they made you they broke the mold! Great question, though. Already been done for my homebrew MicroMeg. Only alterations to design are to use just one filter screen vs 2 and to shorten the outer shell/ screen assembly appropriately. A custom height spacer is of course required since it is shorter than the MiniMeg axial yet it holds15% MORE ‘sorb.…….Best, Ken[/quote]

| Re: Homebuilt Meg Radial Scrubber Hello Ken, thanks for the excellent article, very thorough and impressive workmanship. FWIW, I now find packing my radial-Prism-not a big deal at all. After trying many different methods-tapping, banging, tamping, shaking-I've found that filling by thirds and simply holding it in one hand and slapping the bottom with the other get's it tightest of all. It takes about 10 minutes on land or as long as we're not in anything bigger than 6ft seas. You're right about having a plug/bung for the center hole being a big help, I used a wadded up paper towel for a while, ugh. What I'm going to get next is some mesh, shaped like those collars used for dogs to keep them from licking themselves after surgery. That way, I can pour the litter from on high without waste and keep the dust to a minimum. Isn't it nice not to have to pack a scrubber every damn day? -Andy |
