HUD Shroud for Meg

All,

I've been toying with the idea of a shroud or shade for my Meg's HUD to make it easier to see. When I'm cave diving it's no big deal since it's nice and dark, but often in the ocean I wind up cupping my hand around the HUD to make it more visible.

Has anyone experimented with something like this? If so, what were your thoughts? Any suggestions on how to make one, or where to buy one?

Brian

I have just used my hand when I need to but I must admit, my setpoint manual conrol might not be as tight when it is bright in the water. I am reluctant to install a piece of kit at a problem that is easy to solve by cupping my hand but I guess if I saw something really slick I might try it.

Tricky one Brian. Do you wan't to lessen the ability of your buddy to see your pO2?

If you can't see it odds are your buddy can't see it either and if you can he should be able to see it in the reflection from your mask.

Steve,

To be honest, I hadn't thought of that. However if I'm having trouble seeing it at point-blank range, I would think my buddy wouldn't be able to see it either--I'll have to ask her. As Joe pointed out, perhaps a buddy would be able to see the mask reflection.

I figure that any solution would be dirt cheap and worth purchasing just for experimentation. Not exactly a major purchase. I have some plastic channel that I've been playing around with. Just wondered if anyone else had walked this path before me.
