| Southern Monkey Current Rebreather/s: | How do I take the inflator valves appart to clean them? I can remove it from the lung but then I am stuck. There is an allen (hex) key hole in the center that rotates the button on the front, then there is a pin spanner type ring that seems to be just the swivel ![]() Any clues? Having had both O2 and mixed gas addition valves stick in the last few days, I really want to see what gunk is in there before I stick them in the ultrasonic tank..... |

| Re: Manual addition valve service? Here is a diagram showing the parts for the manual add buttons. Undo the hex nut and the whole lot should come apart. inspiration_manual_inflator_diagram_and_codes.pdf

There is really no need though to remove the fitting from the lung. The moving parts are in the button itself, you can hold the back of the spindle with a spanner, and unthread the button face. Once this is out you can push the spindle through and get acess to the 2 o-rings that seal it. I'm sure someone did a write up on here sometime.... |

Thanks again but... there aint nothing 13mm about this allen key hole.. it is 4mm and I have just noticed that there is a thread at the bottom of the hole :-( tired and confused. There is really no need though to remove the fitting from the lung. I will drink beer at the fountain of knowledge and pray for an answer. I think that if i could somehow grip the button I would be in business. |

Oops, should have read the thread properly. I was talking about Inspiration injectors! Disregard everything I said - I don't know about servicing the Meg injectors....I will drink beer at the fountain of knowledge and pray for an answer. I think that if i could somehow grip the button I would be in business. Sorry! |

| Re: Manual addition valve service? Oops - sorry, likewise I didn't see that it was for a meg and jumped in too quickly. I will go home now. I am afraid I can't help with a meg. Sorry.

You will now expose a 2.5mm allen screw as well.. The 2.5mm is used to hold the cap, while you loosen it with the 4mm one
