| Re: The COPIS (Ko-pes) Megalodon Hi Ron Great article buddy. I am going to take the Instructor upgrade to the Copis in November with Leon maybe then I buy one for the college to compliment our Meg. Its seems a great way for rebreather facilities to have a stock Meg with Copis head that can also be loaned out to divers only wishing to travel with their own electronics we have a few inspirations that we do this with. I also think their is great potential for this as many new rebreather divers cannot quite afford the Apex at the $9000 just over 6,000 is more digestible and great value for the build of the meg. I will get back to you next week on the booster Happy days

| Re: The COPIS (Ko-pes) Megalodon From Ron Micjan's Article on the COPIS MEG: Available as: "One, as a ready to dive unit with cylinders, regs, hoses, sensors, BCD, literally ready to dive. Two as a stripped unit, can, loop, and head only, so you can put whatever cylinders BCD etc you desire. Third as a kit, with a few things assembled, such as the handset and sensor carriage that are critical. ISC is working on a build course, in conjunction with the dive course, so the units can be assembled under tutelage, whether at the ISC facility, or on location." ================================================== I spoke to Leon last week when I put my name on the list for the COPIS MEG, and he did not sound like he wanted to sell a 'stripped' version for less than $6100. Like many, I don't want another harness, BP/Wing, or more 19CF bottles and RH/LH valves, and I thought that should represent a savings of several hundred dollars at least. Leon's response was that it got "too complicated" to sell it other than as a standard unit. That will erode some of the price benefit of this approach, which should have resulted in a price point right at the CK level - but with MEG design, build quality and upgrade path. jeb diver 1369 |

| Re: The COPIS (Ko-pes) Megalodon As I understand it the Meg (classic, not COPIS) is not sold "complete" to Europe because of tank issues (DOT/CE). In this case a stripped option COPIS would be the only way to go, or? |

| Nice piece of kit Good article and excellent design Ron. I will be ordering one of these upon my return from holiday. Just the thing for the delectable Mrs Cooper. Cheers, Dave.
