| Liquid Productions, LLC Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Original CL or Neoprene Hey there! I just went through this tough decision - lol. I had people telling me to go with the neoprene, I had people telling me to go with the original cordura. I just got my Meg a week ago with the neoprene c/l's and I really like them. I did my training on the cordura ones. Overall there's not much of a difference, but I think the neoprene c/l's feel a little smaller. It doesn't feel like there's stuff all over your chest. Overall, I spent way too much time debating that decision - I think I'd be happy either way, but definately like the neoprene ones so far and happy I spent the extra 300 bucks. I don't have the time or experience to say anything on the durability - apparently the neoprene ones aren't as durable - but they seem pretty tough to me. (remember - I'm a brand new Meg diver - So take what I'm saying with a grain of salt) It'll be interesting to hear what some of the experienced Meg divers have to say! | ~~~~~ #417 ~~~~~ Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Original CL or Neoprene Please help me understand something. Why can't a layer of cordura be glued over the top of the neoprene lungs to protect them from snags/pin holes? I assume the top is where most pinholes/snags are coming from. Even so, you could put a layer of cordura on the back as well. Just don't connect the pieces of cordura so the lung can't flex open. And maybe cordura is not the right material. Surely, something could be laid over the lung that is thin, flexible, but yet tear resistant. This would go a long way toward longevity. Would this hurt the peformance of the lung?

| Earning the green stuff.. Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Original CL or Neoprene I believe one of the wearability issues w/ the neo lungs is that they came apart. They are glued versus sewn and people have said that they were coming apart. I've had one hole to date which was fixed w/ some aquaseal - not my 1st choice but what they had at the resort. And I have had to re-iron the material used on the edges a couple times but that was easier than ironing a handkerchief. So far, mine are still on one piece after 4-5 years. They don't get the use they did when I got the unit but they get wet often enough. So I think you can cover the neo lungs w/ nylon or cordura but not sure how long or well they will stay glued together. But if you end up w/ raised seams and a rough material on the outside, what's the point. The 2 negatives I've heard about the neo lungs is that they are harder to keep clean/disinfected and the WOB is a little more than the cordura ones.

| Re: Original CL or Neoprene It would be cool if they made crushed neoprene counterlungs. For some reason I don't think DUI would sell the material to anyone though. |

| Re: Original CL or Neoprene I've been trying to source crushed neo, with no success. It sure looks like one of those "you gotta be a manufacturer of suits or material and do it yourself" kind of things.
