Why wouldn't you keep the head on the canister when you travel (all in a carry-on)? Why wouldn't you keep the head on the cannister when you travel (all in a carry-on)? Or, do you carry on the head and check the cannister? I usually pack the canister and only carry on the head, regs and can light (all the stuff that TSA wants to comb through). Some destinations (Grenada in particular) have very small carry on allowances in both size and weight. It is the only place I've been where they weigh carry-on bags. Thanks, Richard This allows me to manage weight in both checked bags and carry-on bags and minimze my excessive baggage costs. |

In the past when I've flown the unit with the head in place the TSA has required me to dismantle the entire thing in order to prove that it did not meet their definition of 'cylinder.' Not that big of a deal, but definitely a PITA.Brian

Even scarier is when they dismantle it, won't let you do it/help and refuse to listen to or follow your directions on how to dismantle it.Brian I had one TSA agent threaten to have me arrested for standing 6 feet away from him and saying "please listen to my disassembly instructions before you distroy my $10,000 rebreather" Tim |
