How large is the handset bag? Would it be large enough for the Meg handset with VR3 combo on Ron's custom brackets?

Patti the handset cover only fits the meg handset it would not take a vr3 aswell.

Hi Patti-

There is a less expensive alternative that should work nicely for your situation.

For the last year I’ve been seeing very well made neoprene sleeve-type bags at several of the upscale big box stores- Meijer comes to mind and I think you’ve got them on the west coast. The bags are designed to carry a 750 ml bottle of wine and keep it chilled and unbroken. They cost around $10. The last time I saw one I actually thought about Ron’s device and how well a VR3-Meg handset combo would fit. If you can’t find one w/ drawstring, it would be easy enough to add.

For folks w/ unmodified handsets, Walmart sells a simple neoprene bag w/ draw string top intended to keep your 500 ml water bottle cold. Costs $2.99 and fits the Meg handset perfectly.
