| Almost ready to take the plunge Okay, so I’ve been researching the Meg and trying to make my final decisions before ordering. So far, this is what I’ve come up with: 1. Megalodon complete:1000 Denier Cordura counter lungs, breathing hose assembly, 5.5lb axial scrubber canister, APECS electronics, stainless steel single tank adapter, non anodized Aluminum back plate w/Hogarth harness/crotch strap, LP hoses,19 cuft/2.6 liter, 3 AL 3000 PSI/207 BAR cylinders, pro valves, HP gauges, 1st.stages, Auto Demand valve (ADV, Heads up display (HUD), Mixed gas bypass(MGB)w/spare hose, Dust caps, Hat, Spare Cylinder stickers, Helmut logo sticker. I plan to add to the order: Diluent isolator valve: Deluxe O-ring kit: Breathing hoses: Stage anchor mounts:. TigerGear™ cylinder mounting system: TigerGear™ male. And I want to substitute the Cordura Counter Lungs with the Neoprene Counter Lungs and the 19cft AL tanks with the Steel 20cft tanks if possible. Is there any thing on my list that is unnecessary? Is there any “must haves” that I’m missing? Is there any thing that I will need in order for this unit to be diveable that’s not included? Wing, etc? What 1st stages come in the “complete kit” and is there a recommended upgrade, or are the standard fare fine? I’ve seen a lot of “call Leon for advice” posts, but I’d like to avoid any non-linear water fowl problems by having all my ducks in a row before doing that. Thoughts and advice greatly appreciated. Regards, John |

| Earning the green stuff.. Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Almost ready to take the plunge You will need wings. Don't think ISC has one to sell at the moment. I could be wrong. I believe that is the only thing you'll need that Leon can't provide. Of course he'll be happy to work with you if you have your own parts you want to use such as 1st stages, etc. Lots of talk to Leon post because Leon is a good guy to work with and he will make sure you have what you need. Any ideas for training?

Any ideas for training? I have plenty of 1st stages I could rob from OC gear, but thought it might simplify to just get complete unit unless it significantly impacted cost. Same holds true for bp/w combo's. I have had two recommendations for instructors by friends who already have Megs. Expect to be contacting them regarding training as soon as I finalize purchase decision. |
