| Hi All! Just found a close and convenient source for Meg batteries for those of you on the west side: BatteriesPlus 5437 S. Sepulveda Blvd Culver City, CA Went in there during my lunch break with my dead battery pack and within 10 minutes walked out with a new one. They made it on the spot, and it only cost $8, labor included. Have yet to put it in the unit, but the staff were very friendly and exceedingly helpful and I didn't have to bother with my less-than-stellar solder technique... they'll get my business again. -Jesse- |

Last time I checked at our local Batteries Plus store, they were getting just under $20 EACH for C cell lithium batteries. Even at that price, they are half the price per hour of the alkalines. | Re: Meg batteries in L.A! Yep, AA alkalines just like the original packs... after reading the Meg battery FAQ and the issues with lithium cells I figured I'd rather not deal with any of that, but maybe that's just the safts. Besides, the batteries packs my Meg was supplied with have lasted a good 50 hours on my unit, and those used Eveready alkalines... Other than the issue of runtime, is there something I'm missing? What is the experience of other Meg users with different battery configurations? -Jesse- |
