Question Glue for Meg CLs

Hi all,

I almost had a heart attack when I found a tiny leak in one of my Meg counterlungs (Standard, not neoprene!).
It's actually so small that it's just a small amount of bubbles only when the counterlung is full and I fully exhale. So it needs a little bit of overpressure... but I don't like that, specially just before some very deep dives.

So anybody knows a good glue to put in the inside of the CL?
It has to be oxygen compatible and shouldn't leave a bad smell in the loop...

Cheers

Hi

I use this page at work for refferance when it comes to glue for inhalers:
http://loctite.com/int_henkel/loctit...d=189&layout=1

You should be able to find some there.

Just curious - why o2 compatible? I thought that the Meg counterlung only sees low pressure o2, much like the inspo. I've previously patched counterlungs on my old classic inspiration with aquasure, but I don't know if that's the best thing to use. It took a few days for it to cure fully and for the odour to disappear though. (In the end I just bought a replacement set of counterlung inner bags!)

yo

I had a little hole in one of mine as well and used Aquaseal and a bit of trilaminate fabric from my dry suit repair kit to fix it. Works great and my beard has not been on fire yet ...

I wonder as well.

Personally I've given up using O2 compatible things in the ambient pressure side, seeing that I couldn't find an O2 compatible toothpaste...

Wink Re: Glue for Meg CLs

The most important thing about glue and your Meg is to ensure that the glue (when set) is BLACK

Some glues decay quickly in rich O2 environments. I'm guessing Cedric is following the addage. if a job is worth doing, it is worth doing well.
