| RBW Member Current Rebreather/s: | Meg Lungs I've seen photos of the Meg with Neoprene lungs, which look nice and neat - however the photos of DecoDiver and Stuarts Megs I see you've both got the "Ballistic Nylon" ones, which look a lot less neat, and more cluttered with all those external seams ![]() Are the Neoprene lungs available, or are the Nylon ones considered "better" for some reason? The more I read about the Meg, the more I want to ditch the YBOD and get one!! ![]() |

| Yup Neoprene are available, I believe Dave has some on order. Nice thing seems to be they are more streamlined, down side is they are less tear resistant and become porous to gases like He when they age....So you get slightly less cluster but have to change them periodically. Most counter lungs are more streamlined than mine - Leon had to open up the sides of mine as I have such big lungs... Interesting thing to note is that leon uses ballistic nylon not neoprene.... I can also do you a crossover in the UK if you decide to go that way. Cheers, Dave Cooper.

| RBW Member Current Rebreather/s: | What's the volume of the (standard) Meg lungs? The Inspo lungs are a ridiculous volume - Looking at the manual it says that a set of medium YBOD lungs have a volume of about 11.4 litres a pair, and the large are 14 litres! That seems like a huge amount of unnecessary compressible loop volume. Not surprising that lots of people run a long way from minimum loop volume with that amount of space to play with! |

| Who loves ya, baby ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | On the price list I picked up at DEMA the neoprene lungs are listed with a MSRP or $660. Your future is bright, your future is ...

| Having tried the neoprene lungs I found them comfortable, easy to breathe...not crunchy like Insp. lungs. However, they seemed slightly buoyant. I spoke with Steve at the Meg. hatchery and he told me about processes needed to make a set of lungs - a huge amount of time and labor! Something on the order of an entire week to produce a set. I guess when you add up : easier to tear, stinky, prone to diffusion and expensive the choice becomes clear. On a comical side the neoprene lungs made the Meg. look like "Snoopy" from a distance. ![]() |

| S21 M.I.B. ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | I tried the Neoprene lungs on Tom Mount's Meg and they are really streamlined. (Maybe even too small...) But they are very prone to tears and pucture and Tom told me that he has to send them back to the factory when he needs some repairs. No big problem if you live in the States. Living very far from the US, I chose the standard CLs as they are more abrasion-proof. Cheers
