Sad.

Think the poster who elicited this reply ought to mend some fences.
Is this the way to invite a new guy to the party? Ya'll ought to be ashamed of yourself.

Need to side mount...... Calling Mark Nix: I need a quarry day with you to sort it out.
Ron: The before and after photos of the stage bottle is a great comparison.

thanks for the pictures. very nice of you. BUT, do i get the feeling that you use the counterlungs in the opposite way? from your picture it seems that you have the right CL on your left....am i right? why is that?
The trouble, and now the embarrassment I go through for you Spyros:).

secondly, how to you attach the tank? do you use a dogclip, or just put the bungee around it?

Spyros
I wrap the bungee around the valve and reg. Comes off and on with a flick of the wrist.

Don't be a pussy. I did not intend to discourage participation on this forum. Many of us (me included) have learned lessons by the quality of our posts, arguments, and opinions...and I (and those others) are still here.

Why is it that we feel we have the right to tell other what to do? This and many internet forums use very direct language which not everyone appreciates, we should encourage, not insult.

The tank clips on to the butt plate and a bungee is hooked around the top and pulls it in close to the body. Take a look at Golem's site for a better picture.

ArmadilloCCR sidemount kit

I've been side mounting my bailout ever since I finished Mod 1. It does take some getting used to and several dives to get everything adjusted properly but once you have everything dialed in it's a beautiful thing.

Here's the differance between side mounting and slinging. I'm in the background with my bailout side mounted and my dive buddy is in the foreground with his bailout slung. You can see the dfferance in the way the tanks hang and how much more streamlined side mounting is.

I've been side mounting my BO for a while now. I used the bungees to hold the tops of the bottles a first then then opted to got back to using the clips at the top instead. The BO used to fall out of the bungees from time to time, which I didn't like. I find it is still very effective to use clip along with which ever side mount plate you wish to use. One other awesome thing I noticed is its very comfortable when you have 4 b/o clipped off to you.

Re: What Changes Would You Make to A Meg?

Guys
Been looking at Gilles photos. Interesting. I currently have my CL attached at the bottom with bolt snaps on bungy through the crotch strap. I'm thinking that my harness straps are too long (dry suit diving so they have to be longer!) to do it the way Gilles has - the end of the counterlung is still far away from the plate.
Question - if you have the CL attached to the harness with the 3 rear velcro tabs on each side , do you actually NEED a bottom attachment ?
Obviously if I do that I cannot get at my harness D-rings - so could I clip the bailout bottles to the bottom D-rings on the lungs (assuming I dont sidemount) ?
I'm trying to think of reasons why this wouldn't work .......
Cheers
Steve

Not to hijack but?

I know I'm not alkways the most diplomatic, but..... here's an observation: A new guy who had potential to become one of our valued members has left the party, and the best we can say is "don't be a pussy"? That's uncool.... Let's send him a dozen PM's asking him to participate, and just try to be welcoming, OK? Let's send the guy a load of green and make a point to formally invite him back? I already did. Be a friend to make a friend.

Side mounts coming... Armadillo?

Dave
