| My new (now used) MEG!!! Well I got safely back from Cozumel, where I didn't dive CCR, and wish I had gone with more qualified divers. Still I had fun diving the shallow reefs, and walls. I don't think we got any deeper than 150' and most of the time we spent in the range of 70 to 90 feet. Anyway, now Im back in town and ready to see what my Meg can do. Ill have to go back to the warm water because the dark blue void calls to me. Last I posted I was headed out to Wazee to do the open water dives for my cross over cert. I took the family and we were camping so that part was nice. We did 4 dives all one hour long, and spent the first 40 min of each dive doing drills, drills, drills, drills, ect. Then the rest of the dive popping a lift bag and swimming around to get time on the unit. I found the unit easy to dive, and only had one problem with drills. You know the one where you flush the unit with o2, by clamping the hose, and pushing the botton. For some reason I had trouble crushing the hose with bulky dry gloves on, and finally found a way to get the gas to travel backwards to flush the loop. My instructor Ron Benson (Deepthought) did a great job and even though he is crazy on drills (I blame leon) I can now run the unit without any trouble. I feel comforitable funning the unit and doing drills regardless of depth. Having crossed over from the Kiss I can appreciate both the simplicity of the Kiss, and the capabilities of the MEG. I like the way the unit feels in the water (now that I dialed it in) and miss to a small degree the unclutered chest area of the Kiss. However I didn't find that I had any problems putting on stages even though I have on a drysuit, drygloves, hood, light, argon, and the CL. I could realy get use to diving in warm water and almost no gear. I might have to move. |

| Re: My new (now used) MEG!!! Deepwreck, Glad to hear that you and your MEG are getting along. I finished my KISS class a few weeks ago on your old unit. She performed flawlessly and now has a nice scrape on the top where I hit the ceiling of a cave while doing drills. She still has not seen salt water. Been blown out on three ocean dives so far. Hopefully this weekend. . Good luck with your MEG I know I am enjoying my KISS.Helium_diver

| Re: My new (now used) MEG!!! Glad to hear that. I was wondering just yesterday what you were up to. That unit always treated me great. I never lost a dive, and with the exeption of one display that flooded, and was replaced by Kim, I never had any problems that caused me to lose any fun. I will need to get some friends to take some pictures of me in my new system. All the pictures I have are on your unit. Such a great, simple, and easy to use design. Dive long, dive happy, dive safe. |
