| Meg Pick-up & Training (Take 2) OK. My first attempt at this was presumed to be an evangelical campaign of sorts, so I'll try again. I picked up my Meg and did training with Leon April 7th-13th. As I indicated before, I had done a bunch of research. I say this not to imply my research enlightened me to the point that my choice was "right", but more to say I had a whole bunch of expectations for the rig itself and training. Most of the expectations were around the quality of the Meg. Everyone around here (and elsewhere) set a pretty high bar talking up the Meg. My experience so far is that the Meg has well earned the quality reputation. The way the components fit and feel on assembly more than met my expectations. Diving was better than I thought it would be. I'd read about buoyancy going out the window and trim all shot to pieces when you move to a Rebreather. I was pleasantly surprised that trim was established pretty easily. Of course, buoyancy was more of a challenge and I'm no expert yet, but I think my expectations were much worse than what actually occurred. In short, the Meg was easier to dive than I anticipated. Last, the training with Leon was a lot of fun. I came directly from OC without any Rebreather experience. On the first day I had my old divewatch with me so I could download dive profiles. The thing locked me out on the second dive. It indicated I violated my required 100min! deco requirement - we hadn't even entered deco yet. Good illustration of RB advantage. Out last dive was 100min TDT to 150' - great location, great dive. That's about it. It's a good feeling to know after a purchase that you'd do it all over again! |

| Thanks for sharing this with us ![]() I must agree that the trim of the Meg is fantastic - very horizontal! I hope that I get a chance to dive with you soon.... Look out for some trips we will be arranging - this year mainly europe, next year Red Sea Carribean and a few others! Stuart |

After seeing the pics of the spiffy purple and brown canisters I have pondered ordering a lacquered yellow, silver or mil. spec green canister. Cheers. Ken |

The menu system is very easy and the buttons are easy to activate in-water.As for color ... sorry, I'm a basic black kinda guy. There's not too much that's flashy about this diver - except maybe the Meg itself. |

I thought it was a very original choice. One well suited for epicurean tendencies. Ken ![]() |

I hope you will keep us posted on future dives and the Shearwater. I have to order an electronics package sometime soon and I am still deciding between a simple controller, or the Shearwater. I like the HUD. Cheers. Ken |

| i wonder if you can powder coat the meg instead of anodize.. I know powder coating is bulletproof and very resistant to scratches and gouges also does anyone know if the sheerwater has a auto set point?-- |
