My new MEG!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got up this morning and took a look at my system and couldn't believe I own a MEG. Im going to WI to dive the unit and finish my cross over class, so once I add all my crap to the rig Ill be interested to see how everything fits and feels. Then I might have to see what the unit is capable of.

I do want to take my unit to cozumel with me, but I hesitate because the other divers in my group are open water divers, and I know I will want to spend lots of time underwater is I take my MEG. This way I will have the same air as them and the dives will last about the same time. Just my thoughs.

Also its my first time in cozumel and I don't know what to expect.

Cozumel is all drift diving. Jump in, pick a depth and go. Boats will follow and pick you up when you surface. With a r/b you may want to release a SMB towards the end of the dive so the boat knows where you are.

We did a day trip to Coz out of Protec in PDC. A meg, a mini and a sport kiss all boarded the ferry on our backs. We got some funny looks but the diving was pretty good.

When I went to Coz I was diving a sport kiss. I think seeing the ease with which my companions stowed their megs on the plane from Portland mad me decide to buy one. Just sent of the money order today. I will feel poor for the next month or so before I get to dive my unit, then I should be OK.

Enjoy Wazee- just be careful of Matt-the-man-mountain and don't let him near your dry suit zipper (the one at the shoulders, not the one.... oh, never mind......) until you've got the time for the crossover done!

And ask him if he likes his "borrowed" experimental scrubber!

Are you saying that Meg packs easier than the SK ?

no it is actually a little bulkier although the mini meg is a bit smaller it certainly isn't lighter.
Since the SK won't take me where I want to go the meg was the best choice for me.

In off to pack up my system and get ready for this weekend. I think the family and I will go camp by the lake for the class, and Ill dive to finish up my cross over. Can wait to get in the water, and Im looking forward to seeing what the meg can do in more than 10 feet of water.

I might have to get a dive in before the class on friday night. we'll have to see
