Whilst both have a couple of scratches on them (I told him that swim-thru wasn't big enough!), there are quite a lot of areas of 'corrosion'? plainly showing on mine, whch there aren't on Jon's. I've attached a couple of photos and the first one is actually of the section which is covered by my harness and wing, so it's definately not been knocked (and I have a DiveRite transpac, so no nasty metal bits). Has anyone noticed anything similar? Is there anything I can do to reduce this? ![]() |

Probably not. | Re: Meg Canister Corrosion It is really easy to reanodize something. Rember, anodization is rarely much thicker than several thousands of an inch, hal fof which is penetrant the other buildup. When you get something anodized or reanodized, remember you can always have it hard anodized, which can only be a real dark olive drab color or black. Hard anodization is really difficult to scratch unless you dent the underlying soft material. Anodization itself is the controlled chemical corrosion process of forming an even aluminum oxide layer. |

| Re: Meg Canister Corrosion Wonder if a brushed aluminum finish, like on Luxfer tanks, would be a better? Steve at the hatchery was saying the black finish is more durable.
