![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | which electronics? Ok. What do most Meg users like - the APECS, or the Shearwater? I understand you can get the APECS with HUD. I personally like cutting my own table and using Wetnotes. I have 5 wrist computers lying about and I hate adding to the pile. ![]() |

Is it bulletproof and non-buggy? I hate it when computers go "tits-up". A group of us were using some XXXX highly touted computers and all three failed during the week. I had an Insp. with Classic handsets and I had zero down time. I want to be convinced. Cheers. Ken ![]() |

Ken,![]() as you know, I don't have the empirical data to say what's best, but I ordered the shearwater. a couple of items: - You can always just use the electronics to monitor the PO2 and use pre-cut tables - You're going to end up with the same handset either way - APECs or Shearwater - Previous versions of the APECS had two handsets, not sure if this is still the case (I hate having extraneous clutter on my wrists and went with the single wrist unit...) - The HUD comes standard with the shearwater, is an extra on the APECS - There's always Ebay for those extra wrist computers... - There's an extra 'bling' factor for the shearwater Tim |

| Who loves ya, baby ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Is the HUD connected to the Shearwater in form, shape or way, or is it powered by the second battery, has its own electronics and is just connected to the same sensors?

The HUD is independent. It is powered by the second battery and only reads the PO2 of the loop. It uses independent circuitry and and a separate processor. |
