Based on Smithers design I believe but upgraded in house by Steve - current design and maintainence is in house by ISC - actual board manufacturer not sure.I had a little play with the APECs in the factory when i was out there - you can't fault the proven reliability but I do prefer the GUI on the shearwater. The one I played with had 2 displays but I can not see why you cont just get one as long as you were to get the HUD so you had 2 displays for the PPO2. Also it was answered earlier but computer, battery etc totally independant between HUD and wrist computers - when i get round to pictures and a break down you can see it clearly. Stuart |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thanks for all the input. I had a chance to dive Will's original Meg a few years ago. It seemed quite solid. I wasn't quite sure how the new electronics measured up these days. From everyone's input it seems both are solid choices. I guess we would expect that anyway from ISC. I guess it's a matter now of how much "bling" I want. The heads-up (as described) seems intuitive and quite easy + from a scootering viewpoint nicer to have one display. Again, I appreciate everyone's feedback. Ken |

![]() ![]() | What is the current APECS version? I've currently got a fairly old unit (with APECS v1.06a) and I'm thinking about either upgrading the unit to new electronics & a CIS scrubber, or selling the current unit & buying a new one, Thanks, Robert |

I understand that it's still undergoing some testing. However, it won't be too far away. I think it's the crowning piece to a stellar unit. |
