I am getting a Meg and was wondering if there is a member's list, or other sources of info. to read beyond Leon's site. I also wonder how many users are out there currently and whether Leon would make up a unit with some movie type add-ons for fun (no extend-air please).

There is an owners only mail list at the moment - but we are just about to update that and move it from Yahoo to the ISC server.

Although it is mainly used for announcments etc - much much more chat here - that tells you something about its use atm!

Hey its custom rebreathers right! If you want anything done then just ask Leon I am sure he will oblige!

That's right, it's "Breathe it your way". So far I can think of the following things I want:

* Hard coat in gray - non-reflective color
* HUD
* Some shiny movie bits
* No logo. The logo is a tad too...why not just a large Meg. tooth stitched on?
* A small robot sherpa with female voice

* Cis Scrubber when they finish testing

Your post to the factory got me thinking it's time to switch. Anyone interestested in purchasing one of the first Insp's in North America?

just a few thoughts:

- Hard coat is available in any color you want, so long as you want black. Anodizing is available in many colors.

- HUD is part of the options set with the Shearwater electronics

- Shiny bits - Pimp your Meg? what do you want to Bling-out? A diamond-encrusted DSV could be fancy.

- Logo -on the canister this is a decal, it can be removed easily. On the counter-lung it is a bit more complex.

Hey Tim,

Black? I've seen how that disappears into the depth of the St. Lawrence. I need something that shines, but not too much. Diamond encrusted sounds good - you got taste my brutha!

A seam ripper works on all stitching...just doesn't go too well on an air bladder I suspect. It was an errant thought on my part.

I look forward to seeing your unit next month and make sure to sign the video release because your unit will be featured on video! Cheers. Ken

HUD was an option before the Shearwater, so I asume that's still available with the APECS II controller.

There is always the option of neoprene counterlungs, they don't have the logo afaik.

Hardcoat is different from regular anodizing. It requires greater electric current and provides a more durable surface to regular anodizing - similar to Chrome plating. Color anodizing provides surface protection that is somewhat less durable than hardcoat anodizing but comes in a wide range of colors.

While I have heard that hardocat is available in 'grey to black' I have never seen it in anything but black. Most of the color variation is related to the thickness of the coat and the particular alloy that is coated. Since the standard hardcoat is black on megs, I assume that getting a grey hardcoat on a meg is unlikely.

Entirely possible. All of the early Neoprene lungs were logo-free. When Leon switched to the nylon ones, the ISC patch started showing up on the inhalation lung. Chris Gregory had one on a mini-meg at the 2004 BTS, so they've been around for at least a year...

I know the Neo Lungs are available 'on special order' now. I don't know if they are branded or not.

For a grey color - I would suggest getting the can bead blasted so its nice and smooth but dull then anodised silver - would be sweet.

I am sure if you asked cicely you could get some counter lungs with out the badge - imho I like it

they are specced up for bling if thats what you want - Instead of black bits eg scrubber head etc you can get polished alu!!
