![]() | Damage to O2 connector I have recently purchased a new O2 QC. As you can see from the photo the tip of the male connector has been chipped. This connector is manufactured by a Korean company called Hy-Lok. This connector is new and unused. Comments: 1. This was air-mailed to Australia. It is possible that it was damaged in transit but the packaging was undamaged and I didn't find any chips in the plastic bag it was shipped in. 2. I would expect the tip of the connector to chip further. 2. I stand to be corrected but I don't think there are any filters downstream of the connector. Next stop; the solenoid... 3. A visual check of the connector prior to making it up each time would be a good idea. 4. Swage-Lok supply female blanking caps to protect the connectors - I'll be buying one. 5. I don't know if there is a quality issue with Hy-Lok - has anyone experienced similar? Regards, Mark |

There is one on the Inspiration....Steve |

A little off topic but personally I don't recommend using equivalents no matter what make. I note that Leon mixes Hoke and Swagelok fittings, although compatible (along with a few other brands) I have seen problems in the past with tolerance issues, etc. I recommend obtaining exactly the same brand and model as the end you are trying to match. Getting wet these days? Hear your buddy is back on Oz. Regards, Fred |

![]() | Re: Damage to O2 connector "That will teach you to try and save a few bob Mark!" Leon supplied me with a Hy-Lok male and Swage Lok female. I would have sourced Swage-Lok for both locally but I had to get a replacement counterlung and I thought I might as well order a few other bits and pieces at the same time. Agreed. I'll be on the phone to Swage-Lok today. Do you know what the end fitting is? The choice is; Swage-Lok tube, male NPT, male iso tapered, female NPT or female ISO tapered. (brochure attached). "Getting wet these days? Hear your buddy is back on Oz." K2 is back in Perth, I'm in Melbourne. There are a few CCRs here; Prisms, Inspos and a mod'd Draeger so I'm managing to get a few dives in. Unit is performing flawlessly. Any diving in Jkta? |
