| Johnny The Hatch ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Tread on Meg adapter for backplate? also there have been two thread recently about some low profile nut for the backplate, which i found one of them but not the other. So anyone (Stefan), who knows all the threads by heart where is the other thread. This is the one i found http://www.rebreatherworld.com/rebre...late-nuts.html and the otherone, i believe it was someone who bought these nuts from portlandoceanering, but there were some other recommendations as well. And some pics in the thread. /Jonny

If the STA furnished is US in orgin the greatest likelyhood is that they are 5/16 x 18 tpi. For those across the pond, 8mm = .315", 5/16 = .313", and as such it can be very hard to tell apart. Calipers across the major diameter is not reliable, as it is common for threaded fasteners usually run undersize.Could it be M8? Cheers Rodge 8mm x 1.25 lead = 20.32 Threads per inch vs the 18 tpi on 5/16. Count the threads per inch. Alternatively get a nut of known thread and see if it fits, don't force it! Tobin

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Tread on Meg adapter for backplate? I've had mine on for over a year, no rust whatsoever. But then I dive fresh water mostly . They are made from high grade SS, so some WD40 or silicone spray should protect them reasonably well. |
