| Leak irritation...an itch I can't scratch! Well, after 2 full seasons of hard use, I've developed a small, irritating little leak somewhere on my unit. On negative test in a quiet room I can hear a gentle plupp, plupp, plupp noise when I put my ear to the loop. No obvious sea water getting in on a dive other than the normal gloop in the exhale lung but the unit now 'only' holds negative test for a few minutes and then ever so gradually loses it, as opposed to holding it indefinitely before. I've already serviced the mouthpiece, checked the hose Jubilee clips for tightness and looked for obvious loop/lung damage. I'm now suspecting the diaphragm/spring mechanism on the exhale counter lung dump valve? Any other suggestions or similar experiences? Garry |

| Re: Leak irritation...an itch I can't scratch! I have a similar issue and its a small leak at the interface between the DL T fitting and the shiny plastic round gasket on the fabric. Only noticeable when doing a negative test. Could only find it when doing a negative check with wet CL's and my ear clse to the T when sucking it negative. John |

Thanks John, John Sounds like a similar problem and I'll take a closer look at the joint between the fabric and plastic on the counter lung. |

| Re: Leak irritation...an itch I can't scratch! After over 4 years w/ mine, I'm well acquainted w/ "flup, flup, flup" sound. Spent a lot of time chasing it. Finally stopped when I replaced both the mushroom valves AND their holders in my BOV. Note: I have a custom BOV I designed & built myself. Ken |

| Re: Leak irritation...an itch I can't scratch! Last time I had such an irritating small leak, that was the o-ring at the first stage side on the ADV hose. Best Philippe |

It used to drive me nuts before I switched over to a BOV. Then all was good, until I put longer hoses on my unit, which required some creative sealing solutions. Then an ever so tiny and slow leak on Negative Check showed up. I live with it.... It doesn't effect any function on the unit and no water shows up after dives... The purpose of the negative test is to show if there is a major problem in the sealing of the unit, so it doesn't flood. That type of leak shows up as the hoses dropping in a pretty obvious manner. Holding the negative for a few minutes then an ever so slow dropping of the hoses isn't a problem. Richie |
