i think it all goes back to Jeff foxworthy's sign. people have a sign that states, I am stupid dont ask me anything, or listen to a word I have said.

and people wounder why i never put anything of value on the net, aside from hard core rebreather porn. But the day I take some bit of info off the internet from one of you people i have never dived with is the same day I will haul tanks for the Wkpp.

Sounds like quite a bit of personality conflict in these posts rather than discussion of the issue.

As someone early on in the thread said, if it's really a patent infringement go after them. The patent only remains valuable if it's rigorously defended and holds up when challenged (just look at the Blackberry mess for evidence).

While I am no expert on Rebreather's, I've done a fair bit of research on my own before going down this path and then, did more when I got involved so that I could understand all their intricacies (and dive as safely as possible), and still more when I realized that there was no RB that met all my requirements.

Through all of it there is little that I was able to identify that was truly new technology. Most of it consists of reconfiguring the same tried and true aspects of Rebreather's that have been around for decades.

Agreed, which was the genesis of my "Maybach" commentary....

If the site posted is truly the alleged "ripoff", a cursory glance shows a few things that I personally find interesting - and none of them are "rip-offs."

Using a water filter cannister for the scrubber outer can is actually quite cool and perhaps worth emulating - you certainly can't argue with the cost and its tough enough to take 100psi water pressure from a municipal main..... That's an adaptation that I hadn't thought of - I like it.

The controller is apparently entirely contained within the handset; I don't care for the form factor of it and battery compartment, but again - its not a copy.

The scrubber appears to be a basic radial design; nothing new there.

In short, it looks like most other CCRs... but there's nothing that screams "MEG!" in it to me, looking at the two from a perspective of the pictures each builder provides.

Whatever next? Martin Parker complaining because ISC and Jetsam scrubbers are vertical like the Inspirations or Draeger bitching because everyone else has black rubber breathing hoses "just like us"

I have to give iQsub top scrap-heap bodging marks for the scrubber bucket made from the water trap, not only is it classy and tough but a pretty blue colour!
