| Re: What stuff do I HAVE to get when ordering a Meg? -HUD Must have -ADV Must Have -Neoprene lungs Not essential nice but expensive do allow for a more streamlined front -Wing You can fit any wing system you like onto the nit alot of people go for the divrite trek wing you dont need alot of lift around 20kg -Tiger mounts nice but they do make you slightly wider than other options, you may find though if traveling without cylinders resorts may go down the route of fitting tiger gear to tanks as they are a factory option. saving carrying your system. -1st stages if you still have some from the oc days use them unless you really want new. -etc.... dont forget the unit is very versitile it can be set up just how you want it. | Re: What stuff do I HAVE to get when ordering a Meg? I might be in a minority here but I've not been that impressed with the tiger gear mounts- theyve been inclined to "stick" although I can't put my finger on what exactly it is thats sticking. HUD and ADV are must haves The mixed gas bypass is cheaper to have fitted new rather than retrofitted later Last edited by DonalWalsh : 31st January 2006 at 18:25. |

| Re: What stuff do I HAVE to get when ordering a Meg? Definitely get the HUD, ADV and Mixed gas bypass. Tiger gear is good too. I personally found the standard counterlung to be HUGE, and have just ordered a neoprene one- if you think you might want a neo cl, get it when you order the unit- I understand they are hard to come by afterwards (I got lucky, when I called Leon he happened to have one). As far as the wing and first stages- out source that on your own. I have a collection of wings, and I haven't yet decided which I prefer with it- in fact, I may end up getting another wing altogether for the unit. One thing I have learned is that hose routing is a pita with any first stage. IF you order the Meg with first stages, you will get SP MK 2's, and I thinkt he hose routing would be particularly nasty with them. I am using DS4's and it works well, with a little work. I would add to your list the following: Y manifold for lp hoses (DIve Rite has them, as I am sure do others)- makes the hose routing much nicer! Deluxe spares kit- spare battery, breathing hose, and O rings (could save a trip). 2nd set of male tiger gear if you plan on having multiple bottles (then you can just have them set up and ready to go. You will also want to customize the hose lengths, but I would wait and measure them out after you have the unit. This will make the hose routing much cleaner. Heather

I really like to keep my breathinghoses short....can I cut them myself or do I have to order that from Leon? Never understood why they are so long, especially on the Boris Check out my Avatar...thats more like it Rodge Last edited by rogeringebo : 31st January 2006 at 18:46. Reason: typo |

I know here in the states it's easy to get them in custom lengths (I can order any length I want through my LDS). I assume it would be the same in Europe, but if not, I am sure Leon could get what yuou need if you can't source it locally.Cheers for that...lots of nice info.... I interpreted "breathing hoses" as "lp hoses" (still getting used to all this new stuff!)

On the DSV end the have a smooth end to fit over the valve and onto the DSV. I'm thinking the T end is the same. I'd have to look. I just grabbed what I had. Hchoat where is your LDS getting custom length loop hoses? I might like to try some shorter ones also. |

Sorry- when I referred to custom length hoses earlier, I meant lp hoses, not the loop itself. I don't know about customizing that length, but it will probably be something I look into once I get the lp hoses sorted out. Sorry for the miscommunication.

Want to get the right gear straight away Cheers Roger ISC have done away with most of the options and offer the Meg as a more complete package these days. Most people were ordering the unit with all of the fruit so why not just include it into the deal and save the messing around? You are looking at a 'Complete Meg' rrp US $8153 or a 'Stripped Meg' for about $400 less. The Complete meg is a bargain as you can sell off the bits you dont want and make up a lot of the difference in price but you get more for your money. You still have to stipulate if you want Tiger Gear or Neo lungs and the wing is your call. I hope this helps.
