I haven't looked into it yet but will be shortly in my attempts to make a new dive torch, will post the results either way. The custom battery offering is the kicker for me - more compact than packs. As I said, haven't followed it up yet though. |

| Re: Lithium battery packs for $30 each After getting my meg, I sat around and thought about building some lithium packs, but ultimately decided against it because of the propensity of these cells to vent with flame. I would tend to agree that any scenario that would result in flooded battery compartments would have you off the loop long before the wet batteries became a concern, but I don’t like the idea of having venting lithium batteries anywhere near my loop. I know this has largely been a problem with rechargeable lithium ion packs used in laptops, but there have been reports of standard non-rechargeable lithium cells catching fire with no apparent cause. Exploding Lithium Flashlight Batteries? | Doug Ritter’s Equipped.org Blog Don’t get me wrong. I hate having to change out the packs, but for me, alkaline batteries are safe, predictable and dependable. Thoughts? Cliff Last edited by tumbler : 29th November 2006 at 14:43. |

| Re: Lithium battery Just an Idea Hey Can anyone make a batteryboxs to fit down the battery place on the MEG, so you dont have to tape and put the connector on. I mean some platic thing where you just click the battery in and the connector is on the plastic holder. like in cameraes and so on. I hope you knows what i mean !!!!! Have anyon made that? or are anyone intersted in it? If I should try to get it made what would people pay for it ? I will probely have to get 500 made do you guys think it will be realistic to sell so many? Merry Chris Claus |

I believe with a strong spring or a correct dimension for the lid, that shouldn't be an issue - which the new APD battery box solved the battery bounce issue.
