| ISC and the Meg get ISO accreditation Release below ****************** It's official now. After over a year of getting a quality management system in place at ISC, we had our registration audit on March 1 & 2 and passed with 100% (a rarity for first time registration audits). So, ISC is proud to announce it is now a registered ISO 9001:2000 company. This helps you, our customers, to get the best product available in our nitch of the dive industry. Of course, you have always known that and we thank you for your support. I am also at liberty to announce we will be manufacturing the Cis Lunar water tolerant radial scrubber canister (fits the standard MEG, not the movie nor mini-meg). We are under license from Bill Stone for this canister and expect to have it available around the July 2005 timeframe. Price is yet to be determined. I think it holds 6 pounds of scrubber and lasts 5-6 hours, maybe more. Testing will reveal this, or ask a Cis owner. We are also working on a 10 pound non-water tolerant scrubber which we expect will have about a 9 hour duration in 32degF water - we are just getting started on this. Availability date and price are TBD. For those of you having the great opportunity to make the Beneath The Sea show in New York on March 18-20, Leon Scamahorn will be present in the ISC booth (#518). Leon asked me to mention that we have a new method of calibration we have developed that uses no appreciable amount of oxygen, is fast and easy to perform, and is accurate. If you go to the show Leon can demonstrate the methodology. We will soon be providing this system of calibration as an option for the MEG. Again, price and availability is TBD. To squash any rumors about wait time on getting a MEG these days, we are down to 2-3 months backlog. That means if someone ordered one today, we might be able to get it to them in May or June. Then there is the movie... yes The Cave movie that was supposed to be out in April... slid to August 17th. Search the web for the Cave Movie and track down the trailer and do this frequently since more goodies seem to keep popping up on it. 9 special MovieMEGs were built to support that movie. OK, my soapbox just collapsed, ouch! So, go back to your bench diving. Better yet get wet and dive often. Be safe. Best regards, Steve Stolen, VP, ISC Caretaker of the MEG Hatchery |
