| Re: copis meg hud I highly recommend using the shearwater HUD, it's a stand alone and is easily installed on the Copis. Many would argue that it counts as a secondary since it's got it's own battery and brain. I really like the one I have on my Pursuit Copis. Define easily installed...keep in mind I am not mechanically inclined. But I just looked up the price, and it does seem like a nice way to get some PO2 meter redundancy on the COPIS.....Last edited by scubandreams; 18th November 2008 at 01:56.. |

| Re: copis meg hud I think most folks went w/ a Shearwater HUD, which is standalone. I personnaly went for the HH secondary on my Copis I: all the cool features of the HH (deco, HUD w/ choice of patern, alt cal, mV....) and the integration in the Copis Meg head is first class (gold banana plugs...).Best Philippe |

But I just looked up the price, and it does seem like a nice way to get some PO2 meter redundancy on the COPIS..... Well, of course "easy" is all relative, it was a first for me and a bit of a hair raising experience, you know, because I'm a bit anal and I could kill myself if I did it wrong. What i mean by "easy" is that the Copis head is the Apex head without the extra handsets, at least the Copis 1, meaning there are several standard threaded ports that can be utilized for additional electronics, eliminating the need to drill or otherwise alter the head. this really makes mods a whole lot easier since I was able to just order the appropriate threaded fisher for the Pursuit and HUD, put a dab of fish tank sealent on the threads, screw it in place, connect the molex and voilla. the beauty of adding the Pursuit and or Shearwtar HUD is that the batteries/electronics are all self contained, no need to figure out where in the head to stuff another battery box or other electronics and, all the batteries are kept completely out of the loop.to venture into such an installation definitely takes one into new territory. To modify life support is going one step further down the rabbit hole of total self reliance, but in the end, you know more about how your unit functions, and I've found that to be a good thing... I don't trust any of it, even less since I was the one to put it together. No tempting illusion remains that some higher power/the computer/the manufacturer is looking out for me. here is the link to the mods I did a while back, for some reason the above link is dead so try this one: Installation of the Shearwater GF and HUD to the Copis Megalodon Rebreather - a set on Flickr kins regards, g

| Re: copis meg hud If you're looking at a new COPIS, don't forget the 2.7, you get ISC Secondary with HUD and the Shearwater Pursuit, its definitely a good deal from the manufacturer. just my $.02 Al |

If I had known it was in the pipe I would have waited and done exactly that, instead I heard about it 60 days after I purchased my COPIS II :)just my $.02 Al |
