damn cells The last few weeks I've been seeing some drift and swing w/ one of my cells. The variation has always been within '.1' and validated calibration back on the surface so it hasn't been a significant concern... until.... yesterday while sitting on deco (1.2) I was hanging out about 5 minutes to go, and the cell drops to .4... I was at 20', so I do a dil flush and a O2 flush to see how it'll swing, hoping it'll pop back in - sure nuff, it was way outta whack... I popped the unit back open this morning and checked airpoint, registered in normal range...., I havn't flushed w/ O2, but I'm thinking I'll be packing the cells up and heading over to FX to pop them in the cell checker. I have over 100 hours on these cells, it could just be time to bin it.... -Tim

Re: damn cells I'm still pretty new, but.......isn't 100 hrs about the recomended usefull life for them? I thought it was something like: 1 year or 100 hours, whichever comes first?

Re: damn cells Let us know how it turns out. I have a cell also that reads "funny" It's #1 on my secondary. It starts out on air reading 7-8 Mv, on 02 it reads 50 (the other 2 read much higher). It calabrates ok. I have changed the cell and the same thing. It reads always a little lower than #2 #3 during the dive but in range. When I start breathing on the loop the same cell will go up to 9 Mv (before the dive).I have a cell that shows 11.5mv in air with the cell checker, but only 8-9mv installed in the head ![]() Mark sugested that I take it apart and clean the connections,(I believe this is what he said as I get directions wrong sometimes). I have not done this yet as my head is in the shop getting alterations.
