Covering your Meg canister with Line-X bed liner All, As many of you know I have sent my head to ISC for an upgraded HUD. I'm thinking real hard about having my plenum coated in Line-X bed liner because want to add some durability and insulation... Has anyone done this with their Meg and was it worth it?

Same concept different brand of liner. I have done it with Rhino Hardline and I have found that it makes the can unscratchable. This stuff is seriously hard core. I love it from that point of view. The can is now heavier. Take this how you will. Less lead on the weightbelt Vs excess baggage.

I was going to find a Line-X this week and get mine done.\ All of the rEvo boys here in San Diego got theirs done to their covers. It is holding up extremely well.

Hard to say as I have Shearwater elecs so I'd be guessing. The Supplier did show me an analysis of the thermal benefit analysis they did on an industrial application. In this case it was Liner on steel and it was an improvement in keeping cold in. For what that is worth.Did you notice an increased loop temp? $25 is a fair bit less than I paid. Would I do it gain for $50, yes.

Re: Covering your Meg canister with Line-X bed liner I did mine a few months ago, loop temp is up a little. Condensation was reduced also, it wasn't a problem but what little there was is no longer there. TimC

Re: Covering your Meg canister with Line-X bed liner Brett Hemphill has his Kiss coated with X-liner and talks a bit about it during the video here: http://www.rebreatherworld.com/video...ditionKiss.mov He also talks a little about X-liner on a Meg can. Hope this helps, Nick

Re: Covering your Meg canister with Line-X bed liner Shawn, Think hard, but more importantly, think fast.... I sent mine back for an electronics upgrade, and between FedEx delivering early on both ends and the time in the shop; my head was back door to door in 8 days. Your baby will be back before you know it. Leslie picked up Corey's old unit w/ the LineX, can't say how long its been done, it's certainly taken some abuse and shows it. Pieces are chipping, for all the saltwater diving I do, I'm woried about getting salt stuck in between the linex and the can and eating away. -Tim

Just a fan.

Re: Covering your Meg canister with Line-X bed liner interesting -- from what it sounds like the in-water characteristics = less bouyancy (i.e. heavier?) it might be worth it if i can take a few lbs of my belt. i hesitate because i am A) worried about it getting chipped up and/or water getting between the lining and the can and making bad things happen and B) man i have some good looking scratches on my can -- if i get the lining on the can, all of those memories and stories will get covered up ![]() tim -- is leslie going to be on that nc trip next month?
