![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | First stages Sorry for the very basic question.... I'm collecting peices and parts for the Meg I have on order, and I'm curious as to what folks are using for first stages, as I need to pick them up (or scavenge them from the boxes and boxes of hopefully soon to be useless crap in my garage). Thanks for the help! -H |

| Multi-Circuit Meg Monkey! Current Rebreather/s: | Re: First stages I'm Using Scubapro MK 25's. Like Stuarts poseidon's the performance is way overkillfor a CCR, but I choose them for the hose routing and the fact that there are oxygen compatible parts readily available for them. In many ways I'd prefer to use the MK 2's as they're simpler and more reliable(although the 25's are wicked) but having had one fire oxygen already I wont compromise on oxygen convertions and Scubapro USA no longer makes compatible seats for the MK 2's. Cheers Seb

Thanks for the intel on the MK2's Seb. That's what I had been looking at using, but, like you, having "been there and done that" with the O2 fire- no thanks! I work for a SP/Aqualung/Apeks dealer, and so get decent pricing and parts access for all- so it's easy for me to take my pick from among those lines. Anyone using DS-4's? How is the hose routing with them? I have a pile of them already- so that would be an easy transition. In many ways I'd prefer to use the MK 2's as they're simpler and more reliable(although the 25's are wicked) but having had one fire oxygen already I wont compromise on oxygen convertions and Scubapro USA no longer makes compatible seats for the MK 2's. | Go Nude Or Go Home Current Rebreather/s: | Re: First stages Hi Seb Are you sure that’s right on the Mk2’s? SMI are still using them on the Prism’s and I doubt they would be if they cant get O2 parts for them. I spoke to ScubaPro here in Australia and they confirmed a different seat but said nothing about no longer making them. Cheers Chris

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: First stages Steam Machines does a lot of work to their mk2’s and tank valves to make them safe. In fact, they rebuild them before allowing them to go into service and make specific changes to the valves for Diluent and Oxygen. Heather, you could contact Steam Machines directly in Tennessee if you were interested in using MK2’s. However, I am not sure if this is a regular service that they provide or if they sell a kit? You would have to contact them directly. http://www.steammachines.com/ Regards, Andrew |

Of course it's not labelled as such. Does anybody have hard info in writing from SCUBAPRO one way or another? Bill |

Since they are basically the same as SP MK25's they route extremely well. A buddy uses DS-4's on his meg and they work well also. The hose routing is a little less clean, but I'm often accused of being overly anal about these things. T |

Atomics states that their reg is good to 80% ? http://www.atomicaquatics.com/ComparisonChart.html I have had all kinds of nightmares of one of these burning... Any thoughts or experience you have with the unit would be appricated. Regards, Andrew Quote: (Originally Posted by trob09) Heather, I use Atomic M1's as that's what I had from OC. Further, I'd still O2 clean my own- remember that little story I told y'all about a valve? |
