| Re: Tank Mounts for a Meg I went out online to take a look at the Metal-sub mounts that Bill referred to. Intersetingly enough they appear to be exactly the same as the Northern Diver mounts, right down to the rubber gasket material that's used on the hose clamps. Be aware, ND brackets and Metalsub brackets are not the same afaik. I don;t think you can attach a metalsub male to a ND female. The ND ones I've seen have been smaller than the metalsubs. Thanks for the info on Golem selling the male part separately Bill. Paul |

| Re: Tank Mounts for a Meg Another vote for the Metalsub mounts. I've been using them from the first on my Meg and I just love them. (Well, maybe 'love' is a bit strong, but I like them a lot...) john |

| Re: Tank Mounts for a Meg I actually like your carbon fiber mounts. Its not a project that I have any knowledge to pursue For those like me with no knowledge in carbon fiber stuff and still want to use this method: X Bracket - Scuba GearMy shadow mounts are still in the box. Best Philippe |

On 3L bottles they work very well but I am thinking about moving over to 2L bottles and the system which Jo_C uses. I use Shadow mounts for suit inflation and my torch. |

I use MetalSubs on my Insp Frame and they work great on a 3l and 2l cylinders. Tbe biggest impact is that you have NO choice on the "height" of the connector on a 2l cylinder i.e. the bracket requires the entire face of the tank to mount. Thanks Nick |

| Re: Tank Mounts for a Meg One more vote for the Northern Diver mounts. I have used the ND exclusively and have dove with people who use the Tiger and Shadow mounts. I really like the stability and size of the ND mounts. I was unimpressed by the wobblyness of the Tiger and Shadow mounts. Switching out to much larger tanks than the Faber 3Ls would require new bands, but they are cheap and can be found at any hardware shop. The downside of changing the cylinders could be the installation time. That can be said for many mounting options. |
