| God save the Queen Current Rebreather/s: | Meg CL using Factory Attachment clips Anyone out there using the factory clips to attach the CLs. Looking to use a Dive Rite plate (have one laying around). Backplate has 2 slots one horizontal and the other at an angle for the 1 one harness at teh shoulder location. Using the Factory CL strap what would be the recommended way to attach the strap itself to the backplate. Any suggestions on other reccommendations? Pics greatly appreciated. Looked through gallery and cannot located precisely what I am looking for. Thanks Tony Flaris tflaris@bellsouth.net

At the bottom I use DSS delrin stage wrap blocks to secure a bungee loop with a boltsnap on and use those to clip to hip d-rings on my waist band. This provides some give and keeps them to the sides. |

| Re: Meg CL using Factory Attachment clips Hello, An alternative I've seen is to use bungy chords through the CL clips points with normal clips going to the crotch ring, D-Rings on belt, or to the backplate if you want them pulled out of the way. -p

| Re: Meg CL using Factory Attachment clips I've been using the method in the pictures since I started diving my Meg and it's worked great. I used a piece of 1/2 inch webbing run through the upper horizontal slot and a couple of retainers, like mini weight belt retainer clips, to hold the webbing in place so it doesn't slip. It's also adjustable so once it's in place I can adjust it so the CL's sit exactly where I want them to. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

| Re: Meg CL using Factory Attachment clips I took off the plastic clips but left the loops at the top. Put on some split rings. On the plate I tied some small bolt snaps. I found the clips and such leaving the lungs too low for my taste. The bottom of the lungs I have on one set grommets and on the other set a glued D-ring. Two bolt snaps on a piece of bungee through the crotch strap and onto the bottom side of the lungs and you are golden.

There's been a great thread posted here on the improvements that folks have made to their megs. It includes a lot of pictures. Once you go through it I can promise you that you won't want to use those plastic clips. Hopefully the liink works. http://www.rebreatherworld.com/megal...g+improvements |

| Re: Meg CL using Factory Attachment clips Same as Scott but the 1/2 webbing goes around the horizontal portion of the harness webbing at the back of the BP. That puts the CLs higher on my shoulders where I want them to sit. I need to adjust the length of the webbing when going from neoprene to cordura CLs as the female clip is positionned differently on the CLs. Scott, I'm using one of your pic to show, hope you don't mind. Best Philippe |
