Copis 2.7

I finally got my COPIS the other day, but due to scheduling I wont get the breathing loop and class until next month. Needless to say I cant wait to play with my new toy, including the shearwater pursuit.

This has lead me to my question: Does any body know if there would be a problem with taking the hardwired pursuit off to do some OC stuff until I get done with the class? I know the shearwater comes with a cover for the fischer connector, but the one with my meg didnt come with any cover for the connector. Is there a reason I shouldn't just try to get my hands on a plug and use my shearwater for OC diving?

I know just looking at that computer for the next month will drive me crazy.

I havent called ISC and asked them about it yet, but probably will today, to see what they say about it.

your line 'taking the hardwired pursuit off'

suggests its not on a fisher connector so i would not try taking it off

I guess I am wondering if when ISC says "hardwired" if their talking about the isolator board and cable or if they actually changed the way that shearwater connects the pursuit to the unit.

Ill have to call and find out probably.

Hardwired = NO Fischer Connector = NO WAY to remove it....

Alright, Im done with the stupid questions for now, I just got off the phone with ISC and yep, you guys were right. The cable is wired directly into the pursuit.

now I just wish I had thought of this before I ordered it and got the one with the fischer connector so I wouldn't have to wait so long to play with it.

oh well...

oh well...

yeah you would have enjoyed using your pursuit in oc mode. it is a great piece of kit. you always have the option of throwing some duck tape over the exposed wiring after you cut the cord...that is if you can't take the pressure and decide to cut the cord!
