![]() | Shadow mounts support Hi Rebreather World I am having trouble with my new shadow mounts! I have tightend the SS bands on the STA as much as possible, but the mounts still move when i pull the tanks. Have anyone got any good ideas? I have tried the following so far: Duct tape (fail) Double sided duct tape (fail) Rubberband for drysuit repair (fail) Regards Mads

Like the one who are over cam bands on bc vest´s to protect the tank before throwing about the axis ?? I hope i use the rights words.... Poseidon germany has a underlay rubber for the ss bands. i think that can be usefull to protect the ss bands befor shifting.

I thought so too, for the first month or so I had them. Once mine got settled, and kind of "broken in", they started working like a dream, and I love them, now. Not sure about how to fix the OP's problem, however. Can you maybe show us a picture of yours? |

I experimented with different lubricants to see if there was swomething that would help and the only thing I found that really worked was the chap stick style zipper wax that came with my DUI dry suite. Also, once you have got them in place on the tank and the stack, if you have to take them off and put them on again, particularly if you are switching to new tanks, make sure the impressions on the band line up with the mounts, otherwise the impressions will push the cordora sleave (you've got the sleaves on right?) out into the way of the pins, making the whole thing too tight. hope that helps, g

I love the low profile the shadow mounts add to the MEG, I just need to figure out this tiny problem. ATB /Mads I just used the stainless steel hose clamps that came with them. I tightened them up, but not excessively, and they haven't budged. Wish I could help you, but I can't figure out what to suggest...... |

| Closed Circuit Divers Aus Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Shadow mounts support Hi Mads, I had Shaddow Mounts and secured them with automotive double sided tape and then cranked down the hose clips as tight as I dared with a 1/4 inch drive socket set. They have a very small "Foot Print" which makes it hard to secure them but if you use this method it seems to work alright. I had a bit of trouble with the pins too. I found it was a combination of the clip sleeve sitting out a but too far and fouling the other half of the mount and a bit of corrosion. Make sure to seat the clips with a soft hammer so they "Form" to the mount when fitted. You'll most likely find you can tighten the clips a little more when you do it too. The zipper wax sounds like a good fix. I used to use Cristolube and made sure I pulled the pins after every dive. Regards, Lance
