| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Copis 2 versus Copis 1 Can someone list the differences between the Copis 1 and the Copis 2? Are there any real disadvantages to the Copis 1, or is it just a matter of less features? And what years were the Copis 1 made? |

| Re: Copis 2 versus Copis 1 COPIS I doesn't come stock with a HUD and the calibration is not retained when the handset gets turned off. The handset battery lasts longer on the COPIS I though. |

| Re: Copis 2 versus Copis 1 AFAIK COPIS 1 ceased production around or just before DEMA 2007 (November). The COPIS 2 handset is very similar to the APECS secondary. 2 eats batteries as quickean mentions. Specifically 65 hours for the 2 (at least in my case) as opposed to approx 200hrs for 1. But since the battery lasts so long in the 1, you can calibrate the night before or leave it on for a weekend. Having the HUD on 2 is a very convenient feature but you can put a Shearwater HUD on the 1 if desired. |

| Re: Copis 2 versus Copis 1 Ditos on all the comments above. There are 2 big pros that the II has over the I: (1) HUD and (2) calibration retention. If you are going to pipe in your Shearwater (highly recommended) that that would be a 3rd pro. The battery life is a big con, but for the benefit of an added HUD, I think it is worth it. |

| Re: Copis 2 versus Copis 1 COPIS 1 + HH 2dary w/ deco & HUD => Lots of time on the batteries and the copis displays become the secondary and are clipped off. But the lack of calibration retention is still there. Hopefully Skipbreather's head calibration kit is quick & easy and takes only about 1L of O2 to calibrate. Best Philippe |

| Re: Copis 2 versus Copis 1 Copiis 1 = no secondary Copiis 2 = secondary included These are the basic differences between the units, there a couple of minor details that differ battery usage, cal retention. So depending on the diving you wish to do, secondary are a must, such as deep and caves. ![]() |

| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Copis 2 versus Copis 1 Thank you for the answers so far, two more questions please. 1. Is there a difference in the calibration procedure? My understanding is that the Copis 1 calibrates with air, which sounds very quick and easy. What about the Copis 2? 2. Exactly what do the primary and secondary look like? I believe the Copis 1 ONLY has a primary, which consists of 3 PO2 displays (one for each sensor). For the Copis 2, do you call the HUD the primary? And then the secondary is a full feature box with many display options, is this correct? |
