Only reason I did I was thinking it would be easier to sell it some day ![]() |

| Re: Necessary Items Hey Mike, I am glad to see that you are coming to the dark side. Netmage gave you a pretty comprehensive lists of add ons that make life simpler. I have been using the Dive Rite trec wing it is just the proper lenght for the Meg and 47lb of lift is more than sufficient. Do get the 19's on the Meg and use your side mounted cylinders for bail out. Say hi to Cathy when you see her and welcome to the Meg family. Gabe ![]() |

| Re: Necessary Items Hi Gabe - well, I'm only kicking the idea around right now but I got a lot of good info here in only a matter of a few hours. Also I, visited fillexpress' site and the meg web page along with Dive Rite so I have a "decent" handle on what to purchase if and when I take the leap. Ultimately I would like to use a Re-breather to dive things like Indian Springs, Diepolder 2 & 3, Eagles Nest, etc., I've done those dives (not D3) on OC but CCR just seems to make sense with the scrubber times, price of He only going up, the ability to have a constant set point. I understand you still need the appropriate volumes of all the bail out/deco gasses but at the same time, if you don't use them, you have it for the next time. | Re: Necessary Items Aloha Mike, As a fellow cave diver, Megalodon instructor and authorized ISC dealer, allow me to chime in and reaffirm some previous input. You will certainly want to order the optional diluent isolator valve (DIV), and I would highly recommend the head only calibration kit and the spare parts kit. You might also like to look at the new Tetradon wing, since it comes configured to directly mate-up with the Armadillo beavertail. To keep it low profile for caves, the ISC Low Pro Stainless Steel Plate can be a good way to go, depending on how you would like to configure. As you may already know, or be finding out, one of the many great advantages of the Meg is its configurability. If you would also be looking at doing a lot of salt water diving with your Meg, in addition to the fresh water caves, the Dichromate OD Green cannister anodization can be a good thing, since it holds up even better in the salt water environment. Bottom-line, the standard black cannister is very rugged and durable. Just depends if you want the extra protection, or not. To confirm earlier input, you will want onboard cylinders, with either Tiger Gear, or Shadow Mount tank attachment systems. Then your offboard bailouts, or stages, as we call them in open circuit and cave diving, could be configured as sidemounts. Other than that, you will want a tube of Christolube, some RelyOn (disinfectant cleaner for that hose goop you were asking about), and some sofnolime. Then your course materials: textbook, workbook, underwater tables, etc. If you wanted, some of your current gear could probably be adapted over to the Meg...SPGs, harness, etc. Your call. I stand-by, ready to serve as a resource person for you. Please feel free to contact me. Jim Holt
