| Re: New MEG Partnership? I have not heard anyone talking about this. It was released by ISC yesterday. Opinions are appreciated.... Certainly not a new partnership. The Meg I purchased in 2005 had a Shearwater on it. My understanding is that 1st union wasn't made in heaven, but I liked the Shearwater while it lasted .Bruce's software has been the king of KISS. It is easy to use and performs well. While calls for more complexity have been around for awhile, the Shearwater seems to offer an easy to use, faithful implementation of the GF deco method. Apecs 3.0 must arrive sometime. In the meantime the Shearwater is a very good option IMO. |

I have several friends that got burned the last time. What do you mean burned? I'm not trying to start anything I'm just inexperienced in this arena. I was about fed up with waiting for the new Apecs version. I've been researching this stuff for the last 2+ years and I still feel like I don't know anything! ![]() |

| Re: New MEG Partnership? I've been researching this stuff for the last 2+ years and I still feel like I don't know anything! UWS's rules of equipment purchase ![]() 1) Choose a product at random and you have a 50% chance of wanting to sell it and get something else in the future. 2) Devote countless hours of research before you purchase and you have a 40% chance of wanting to sell it and get something else in the future ... and a 10% chance the product doesn't survive your research period. Pick something. Dive it lots. Reevaluate. It's about the best you can do. IMO saving money is not a likely outcome of this endeavor. |

| Re: New MEG Partnership? I also was one who had one of the early Shearwaters. It was a great system ... and ISC was fair IMO when it failed. And I wouldn't hesitate to get another Shearwater. The Shearwater system was great ... and ISC was fair ... all my opinion, of course, but I would expect the same from their current arrangement. |
